Overcoming Objections - a scenario-based training course
Here's a quick look at the process I go through to create a standard scenario-based course with video. The client wanted to create a targeted practical training that would explore complex in-store situations. I worked with the client, some of our top performers in the field, and management to determine the training needs for this project. We refined the training goals into three specific questions:

- What should a sales associate do if there isn't enough display space for a product in the store they are visiting?
- How should an associate respond when they're told that a product doesn't do well for their customers or clientele?
- How can you work well with a difficult KDM?

From there, I built out a script with assessments that touched on these key points. I passed it by the team and refined it so that the story was as realistic as possible. Here's a few screenshots from the course, which was built using Articulate Storyline 360:

The video at the core of this course features custom characters created in Vyond - an online animation app used by top brands such as Amazon and Sears. I used a blend of built-in assets, custom images, and images curated from Adobe Stock to build out the scenes. I then recorded and processed the audio using Adobe Audition. I found the music on Envato Elements and procured a license for it.
Here is an audio clip that I recorded and edited for one of the course slides.
Once the first draft of the course was complete, I sent it to the team for review. The training was originally meant to target a specific group within our team, but the client liked it so much that they had us roll it out to the entire team!
